Announced early Tuesday morning to the membership’s database, CICA announced the environmental scientist, who holds over three decades of experience in addressing environmental challenges such as climate change and biodiversity loss, would be delivering the speech that is sponsored by the Baden Davis Crane Connection. The announcement is in line with CICA’s 2024 theme for its national conference: ‘Building a Sustainable Tomorrow’.

“With a passion for the outdoors, Tim blends his expertise in environmental science with his adventurous spirit. His extensive experience in leading expeditions to some of the world’s most remote locations has provided him with invaluable insights into team dynamics and high-performance leadership,” said a release from CICA.

“His pragmatic optimism is noticeably present in both his expeditions and sustainability endeavours. Recognising the task at hand, Tim champions outcome focused goal-setting, adaptability, resilience, and effective teamwork as the building blocks for success.”

News of Jarvis’ appointment to the role of keynote speaker comes after CICA revealed its major sponsors for the 2024 conference. Australian pick and carry crane manufacturer, Franna, is the platinum sponsor of the event, taking the mantle from XCMG who held the title last year. UAA Group has been named as both the networking dinner and silver sponsor of the event, with German manufacturer, Liebherr, taking the chance to be gold sponsor of Australia’s premier crane exhibition.

National crane hire company, Preston Hire, has been named as the WIFI/App sponsor, with XCMG picking up the satchel sponsorship for this year’s event.

The 2024 CICA National Conference is to be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre from October 17 through to October 19 in partnership with the South Australian Government, the Adelaide Convention Centre, and Business Events Adelaide.

Once again, CICA is running its ‘Lift of the Year’ and ‘Photo of the Year’ that is proudly sponsored by Cranes and Lifting Magazine. Don’t miss out on the chance to give your projects the recognition they deserve by submitting your best work in the <20-tonne, >20-tonne, project of the year, and innovation of the year categories via CICA’s website.
