Centurion acquires Aerial Platforms Limited to expand presence in Europe

Centurion Group, a global provider of rental services for critical and remote industries, has acquired Aerial Platforms Limited (APL), a UK-based company that rents out powered access equipment like scissor lifts and boom lifts. The move is part of Centurion’s plan to expand its footprint across United Kingdom (UK) and Europe.

APL is a privately owned company headquartered in Leigh, Greater Manchester in England with additional sites in Newcastle and Carlisle. The company supplies mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) to the construction, infrastructure and retail sectors.

By acquiring APL, Centurion gains three new operating bases in England and strengthens its offering in the lifting equipment market. The deal gives Centurion access to more industrial clients and enables it to invest in newer equipment, better infrastructure and improved services. APL will continue to operate under its brand while benefiting from Centurion’s scale and financial support.

Centurion CEO Euan Leask said APL is a strong, well-regarded business that fits well with Centurion’s UK and European operations. “This acquisition expands our footprint across England and enhances the range of services we can offer,” he said.

APL owner Jason Seddon added that joining Centurion is a “new chapter” for the company, and that both firms share values around safety, service and ongoing improvement.

Centurion has grown significantly since 2017, with revenues rising from around $200 million to roughly $500 million by the end of 2024. The group has made 21 acquisitions in that time across the UK, Europe, North America, the Middle East and Australia. It has focused on industries with long-term growth potential like renewables, infrastructure, defence and mining.

This latest acquisition aligns with Centurion’s ongoing strategy to grow through targeted takeovers. The company also said it has more deals in the pipeline to support further expansion globally.
