Brazilian crane rental and services company Guindastes Centro Oeste have officially received the first Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 to be delivered to Brazil.
Needing to expand their fleet from the 200-tonne mobile crane previously in their possession, the Brazilian company sought out the 230 tonner thanks to its longer boom system.
With a maximum reaching height of 75 metres and offering 20% more lifting capacity than its predecessor, the LTM 1200-5.1, the LTM 1230-5.1 mobile crane possesses one of the longest booms in its weight class.

“We are expanding our fleet of machines above 200 tonnes. The characteristics of the telescopic boom, the versatility of a five-axle crane, and its high capacities and heights were motivating factors for acquiring this new model, which will carry out the tasks we have been handling with the LTM 1200-5.1,” said Diego Scopel, owner of Guindastes Centro Oeste. “The LTM 1230-5.1 will be deployed in operations at steel as well as paper and pulp plants, in short and medium-term projects, and in those that require high capacities in tight spaces.”
Complementing their current over-200-tonne machines, the Brazilian company are also set to receive an LTM 1300-6.2 mobile crane from the German manufacturers in August.
Featuring a 70-meter luffing lattice jib, the 300-tonne crane possesses a single-engine concept allowing for efficiency in both set-up and operation.

With a fleet of 65 cranes, Guindastes Centro Oeste already own 16 Liebherr models – something Scopel believes allows for simplicity when it comes to maintenance and training.
