Announced earlier in May, the crane and logistics services company revealed that the contract was awarded to provide crane services at Newmont’s Boddington Gold Operation in Western Australia for the next five years. According to Boom the contract is expected to generate $60 million in revenue across the initial five years of the contract, with the project commencing in the fourth quarter of FY24.

“The contract builds upon our relationship with Newmont where we have established a track record of executing and delivering large project work,” said Ben Pieyre, Boom Logistics’ CEO. “Boom is continuing to see a strong operating environment across our core markets and remain actively engaged in discussions for further work with a range of counterparties.”

Boom’s latest announcement means the company has now secured over $174 million in new contract wins and contract renewals to date in FY24.

News of Boom’s Newmont announcement comes after the crane hire and logistics provider revealed it was expecting an NPAT of $6 million, with Pieyre saying the contract with Newmont was testimony to the high level of quality service being provided by Boom.

“The positive operating outlook and our continued execution against our strategic roadmap provides continued confidence in achieving our FY24 guidance of an NPAT in excess of $6 million and delivering enhanced returns for our shareholders,” he said.

Boom Logistics offers complete project services across the infrastructure, mining, wind farm, and construction industries.

The company possesses over 250 mobile hydraulic and crawler cranes, ranging in capacity from five tonnes through to its largest machine, the 800-tonne capacity LTM 1750-9.1. Additionally, the ASX-listed company possesses a range of specialised access equipment, a vast number of travel towers, heavy haulage machines, and a full range of engineering services.

Newmont Corporation is an American gold mining company based in Greenwood, Colorado and is the world’s largest gold mining company. Opened in 2009, the Boddington gold and copper mine, as of 2019, produced 703,000 ounces of gold in annual production and reaped 77 million attributable pounds of copper.
