Bäsmann Kran- und Transport GmbH has added a Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1 mobile crane to its fleet, marking the company’s first Liebherr purchase in 30 years.
The 60-tonne crane replaces an older model in the same weight class and is intended for use across a range of applications, including work on biogas plants.
Bäsmann is based in Bülstedt, Lower Saxony, and has been operating in the crane and transport for nearly 60 years.
Crane specifications and features
The Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1 is a three-axle mobile crane designed for both road travel and lifting operations, featuring a long telescopic boom, compact dimensions for use in confined spaces, ECOmode and ECOdrive for improved fuel efficiency, as well as VarioBase support system for increased stability.
The LTM 1060-3.1 also features a wireless remote control for safer and more precise operation, on top of custom folding jib to allow for more flexibility during indoor installations and work close to structures.
According to Managing Director Florian Bäsmann, the decision followed market analysis and discussions with existing Liebherr customers. The company identified the LTM 1060-3.1 as a good fit for its mid-range fleet segment due to its performance, versatility, and compatibility with existing operations.
The crane will primarily be used for the construction and maintenance of biogas facilities. Additional applications include structural steel and concrete works, agricultural tasks, and indoor installations such as crane runway setups.
Operators of the new crane, Andreas Lenz and René Rubarth attended a two-day product briefing at Liebherr’s Ehingen facility in southern Germany. They will conduct further technical reviews before the crane’s first deployment.
