Having recently won an award for ‘Product of the Year’ at the International Awards for Powered Access, the fully electric rough-terrain articulated platform represents Manitou’s commitment to providing increasingly innovative and sustainable solutions, according to the manufacturer. Competing against more than 120 other entries, the Manitou 160 ATJ+ e came top in the ‘Self Propelled Booms & Atrium Lifts’ category, adjudicated by a panel of industry experts from rental companies and manufacturers.
“We are very proud to receive this prize,” said François Desbrière, head of platform development at Manitou. “This 100 electric rough-terrain aerial work platform represents all the innovation that our marketing and R&D teams have brought to bear to satisfy our customers with a zero-emission, high-capacity product.”
Manitou’s award-winning, fully electric rough terrain aerial work platform possesses a maximum working height of 16.22m, a maximum outreach of 8.34m, a platform capacity of 408kg, and can fit three people on its platform. Due to its four steering wheel and all electric engine, the platform is suited to a diverse range of applications, proving its worth in rough, uneven, muddy terrains, as well as indoors thanks to its zero-emission energy.
The platform is also part of Manitou’s ‘Oxygen’ series, a manufacturing strategy launched by the manufacturer to provide more low-emission solutions to the market. The electric power in the Manitou 160 ATJ+ e is derived from the 80 per cent recyclable lead battery.
“We will continue to innovate and develop our global offering of electric rough-terrain platforms,” said Desbrière, “while providing an optimal level of service, productivity, and safety to our users.”
