The new Terex Rough Terrain Crane – the TRT40US – has been showcased to industry professionals for the first time by Atlantic Coast Cranes in the US.
The Open House event included informative presentations, live demonstrations, and opportunity for hands-on experience with the TRT40US crane. Attendees interacted with Atlantic Coast Crane’s team who were on hand to answer questions and provide insights into the capabilities of the crane.
“We were thrilled to invite our valued customers and industry professionals to our Open House event,” said Waldo C. Jones, Jr., President and Owner at Atlantic Coast Cranes. “Crane operators liked the user friendly TEOS system and the telematics, as well as the ability to input three different operator settings to individualise the controls and comfort.”
According to Terex, the TRT40US provides a flexible, durable off-road crane that caters for several applications such as ports, construction, infrastructure, mining, energy, yard logistics and general lifting. The machine possesses a 30m hydraulic, four-section boom, and lifts at a maximum rated capacity of 40 imperial tonnes – 36 metric tonnes.
The 40-tonne rough terrain crane was designed with manoeuvrability in mind, underlined by its width of only 2.5m and four steering options. As a result, the crane can be easily moved even on congested job sites with narrow or confined areas. Furthermore, the TRT 40US is equipped with a Cummins QSB4.5 Tier 4 Final/Stage V 4-cylinder engine, bringing a high level of power and optimised consumption thanks to the Eco Mode function.
“Feedback from customers was that they liked the compact footprint that enables it to get into very tight places the other machines can’t get to,” said Jones.

Additional to the 10-inch TEOS Operating System, Terex’ newest rough terrain crane also comes with T-Link telematics, providing users with real time information on the performance of the crane and allowing for geo-localisation and remote diagnostics. According to Josh Lawrence, Regional Sales Manager at Terex Rough Terrain Cranes, the responses from participants in the Open House indicated positive feedback around the practicality of the crane and the diagnostics available.
“The Open House at Atlantic Coast Cranes was an excellent opportunity to share the capabilities of the TRT40US to the US market and connect with the industry, showcase our expertise, and demonstrate our commitment to innovation,” he said. “The comfort of the cab generated a lot of positive feedback, as well as how easily accessible the components are to get to.”
