Heavy lifting powerhouse, Al Faris Group, has completed the successful lift and shift of two gas phase reactors weighing approximately 510 tonnes per unit.

The units were being transported by the Middle East and North Africa heavy lifting company for a major project, the Al Faris was contracted by global EPC contractor, Tecnimont, to lift and shift the two modules over a prolonged distance. The gas phase reactors measured in at a length of 37m, a width of 10.2m, and a height of 9.5m.
In order to successfully complete the transportation of the two modules, Al Faris Group deployed Cometto’s SPMTs. According to Cometto, to ensure the safe, efficient transportation of the reactors, the MENA heavy lifting company utilised a 4-file SPMT combination that was composed by a total of 44 axle units.

The two gas phase reactors are being delivered to Borouge 4, one of the UAE’s largest industrial projects, that will make Borouge the world’s largest single-site polyolefin complex.
