The Victorian crane hire company first deployed its eight-axle, 700-tonne MRC Liebherr all-terrain crane to help lift six 43-tonne, 23m long ‘super T-beams’ that will form the station concourse, residing over the rail trench and platforms. After completing the lifts on the T-beams, Advanced Cranes deployed both its 40-tonne Liebherr all-terrain and 120-tonne Liebherr to complete a range of tandem lifts on four 12.5 tonne lift shafts that measured in at 13.7m tall and 3m wide.

The LTM 1120-4.1, on top of its 120-tonne capacity, possesses a best-in-show main telescopic boom of 66m, a maximum hoist height of 91m, and a maximum operating radius of 64m. First unveiled to the world at 2020’s ConExpo, the most powerful four-axle crane on the market thrives in jobs that normally require a five-axle crane due to its high lifting capacities and manoeuvrable design, according to Liebherr.

The works on the Dublin Road level crossing will eventually contribute to the new Ringwood East Station that, according to the Level Crossing Removal Project’s official website, is set to be completed a full year ahead of schedule and open to the public in 2024.

Victoria’s Lilydale Line will be the first level crossing free train line, with boom gates at Coolstore Road, Croydon, and Cave Hill Road, Lilydale, set to be permanently removed.

Advanced Cranes is a Victorian crane hire company conducting its operations all up Australia’s East Coast, with its machinery spotted conducting lifts on wind farms, industrial shutdown settings, and civil infrastructure jobs. The company possesses a fleet ranging from its three-tonne spider crane through to the 800-tonne LTM 1750-9.1.
