Advanced Cranes eyes bigger lifts in 2026 with Liebherr LG 1750 SX3

Advanced Cranes has announced plans to expand its heavy lift capabilities with the addition of a Liebherr LG 1750 SX3, scheduled for delivery in 2026.

The crane, a 750-tonne lattice boom mobile crane, is one of the most powerful in its class. The SX3 configuration is rare in Australia and is expected to significantly strengthen Advanced Cranes’ ability to support complex wind energy projects and large-scale infrastructure works.

The Liebherr LG 1750 SX3 combines the lifting strength of a crawler crane with the mobility of a mobile crane. It features an eight-axle chassis that allows for faster travel between sites, while the SX3 boom system delivers around 20 per cent higher lifting capacity compared to earlier configurations. The crane can also operate safely in higher wind speeds, making it well suited to the installation of modern wind turbines with hub heights of up to 170 metres.

Advanced Cranes said the new addition reflects its focus on meeting growing demand in the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors. The crane’s design also improves efficiency on site by reducing the number of transport vehicles required and lowering overall mobilisation costs.

The company acknowledged the support of its workforce, partners and suppliers in making the investment possible, noting that the new crane aligns with its ongoing commitment to safety, reliability and high service standards.

Advanced Cranes, based in Australia, provides heavy lift and specialised crane services across a range of industries, including wind energy, industrial construction and major infrastructure projects.
