A thousand Liebherr cranes and counting

MAXIKraft has reached a major milestone, having purchased 1,000 Liebherr cranes over the past 33 years as part of its long-term strategy to keep its fleet modern and efficient.

What began as a one-man business founded by Maik Kanitzky in Züllsdorf, Brandenburg, in 1992 has grown into a group with 500 employees across 26 locations. The company now includes five businesses, most recently strengthened by the acquisition of KRANprofis Allgäu GmbH.

Today, MAXIKraft operates around 200 mobile cranes and a large number of lattice boom cranes, with lifting capacities of up to 1,000 tonnes. Kanitzky has focused on renewing the fleet regularly to ensure customers and staff have access to the latest equipment. “We usually replace our mobile cranes every three years. Highly qualified employees, reliable partners and innovative machines – these are the key factors for our success. Liebherr has been providing us with the right technology and the necessary support for over three decades,” Maik said.

Liebherr’s ongoing development of crane technology has played a major role in MAXIKraft’s operations. The fleet features systems such as VarioBase®, VarioBallast®, VarioTray® and the hydraulically adjustable V-Frame, all designed to improve efficiency, safety and flexibility on site.

Long-term relationships remain central to Kanitzky’s approach. “We invest in training and focus on technology that inspires. Many of our employees have been with the company for many years – including those who joined us as part of acquisitions,” Maik said.

MAXIKraft specialises in crane services and heavy transport, operating mobile and crawler cranes from 25 to 1,000 tonnes, along with transport solutions handling up to 300 tonnes. The group’s 500-strong workforce is supported by more than 200 cranes, 70 heavy-duty trucks and a wide network of partners, carrying out work ranging from machine relocations and assemblies to tower crane moves and specialised SPMT tasks.
