The delivery consists of 26-all terrain cranes with lifting capacities ranging from 50-to-110-tonnes and all 26 cranes will be fully refurbished in Germany, before making their way to Saudi Arabia.
Mohammed Al Askar, Owner of the Al Askar Group said the relationship his business has with Liebherr was crucial to the decision.
“We trust Liebherr. We are proud to be able to add these devices to our fleet,” said Mohammed. “We can be sure that we will receive all the cranes from Liebherr in excellent condition and can get them to use immediately,” he said.
Mohammed said he is excited to add to Al Askar’s growing fleet.
“These relatively new used cranes are equivalent to new cranes once they have been refurbished. Their performance data and technical features are up to date. We look forward to having all 26 LTM mobile cranes in our fleet by the end of the year,” he said.
The largest of the delivery is the LTM 1110-51 mobile crane, which includes a 5-axle set-up with a maximum lifting capacity of 110-tonne and a telescopic boom height of 60m – making it one of the longest booms in its crane class.
The smallest crane Al Askar took delivery of was the LTM 1050-3.1; with a 50-tonne lifting capacity, the economical taxi crane is able to be driven on public roads and also includes a 3-axle set-up.
Mohammed complemented Liebherr’s reputation.
“Liebherr has impressed us with its intelligent safety systems, the excellent quality of all its components and all its production technology. Finally, the value retention and durability of Liebherr mobile cranes is an important factor,” Mohammed said.
The Al Askar Group employs over 700 people and specialises in haulage and heavy lifting. The company’s fleet includes approximately 90 cranes.
